In 2023 I used to work a lot with data in Splunk to analyze usage patterns for some of our APIs. This analysis was vital for the design of the next generation of APIs.
There were couple of Splunk experts in the team I would go to and explain what I’m trying to get to. It would take them some time and iterations and I got the exact queries.
While this worked well, I felt I was taking their precious time and had to sometimes wait for them to help me with the queries.
AI (ChatGPT) changed this for me because I could do the same iterative process to get to what I wanted exactly in terms of the query.
I wouldn’t say it saved me time but yes it saved me dependency and some guilt 🙂.
